At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, members of the Arlington County Police Department were called to the 3100 block of Washington Boulevard, where there was a reported robbery with patrons and employees inside the building.

The initial investigation determined that a suspect entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money. Nearly an hour later, at 4 p.m., police said that the suspect remained barricaded inside the bank.

Negotiators are at the scene attempting to resolve the incident, according to police.

Multiple roadways surrounding the bank were closed on Tuesday afternoon, including all lanes on Washington Boulevard at Wilson Boulevard to the intersection of Washington Boulevard and North Hudson Street.
